Fistula Probe Set

A set of 10 Surgical Instruments

Material: The probe set is generally made of stainless steel or any biocompatible metal, ensuring durability, resistance to corrosion, and ease of sterilization.

Irrigation Cannula- Used for irrigation of the wounds. Available in a single size of 5.5inches

Bumm Curette – It removes unhealthy granulation tissue from the fistula tract and abscess cavity. Suitable for removing necrotic material from large ischiorectal and supralevator abscesses. It can also be used for sharp curetting of the pilonidal sinus tract. Available in a single size of 7.5 inches/span>

Fine Curette- It removes unhealthy granulation tissue from the small fistula tract. Suitable for fine curetting. Available in a single size of 7.5 inches.

Cup Curette – It has a small handle, shaft, and cup-shaped end for scraping, debriding, and tissue removal. Suitable for curetting of deep intersphincteric space. Available in a single size of 7.5 inches

Copper Fistula Probes (2) –The probes are malleable. Available in two different sizes, 8.5 and 6 inches. They are suitable for probing linear fistula tracts and intersphincteric spaces.


Lockhart Mummery probe – It is a specialized instrument that is precise and effective for its intended use in probing fistulas. Available in a single size of 7.5 inches. Suitable for probing tracts associated with hourglass deformity or stricture. It can also be used for probing thin curvilinear tracts.

Double-shaped Curve probe – It is a specialized instrument used for probing and assessing the extent and direction of the fistula tract. Available in a single size of 7.5 inches. The C-shaped curved probe is designed to follow the often convoluted paths of fistulas and sinus tracts. Its curved design allows for easier navigation through these abnormal channels, helping to trace their full length and determine their origin and endpoint.

Fistula probe with a curved tip and an eye – It is a specialized instrument for placing a seton in a fistula tract. The probe is provided with a broad base for easy griping. Available in a single size of 7.5 inches. Commonly used instrument for changing of setons.


Hegar dilator (3 mm diameter) – It is a specialized instrument used to dilate the fistula tract. The tips are rounded at both ends to prevent the creation of false passages. Available in a single size of 8 inches. Suitable for dilatation of tract before the insertion of VAAFT scope.

Maintenance and Cleaning

After use, the instruments are cleaned with water and rinsed in hypochlorite solution for at least 30 minutes, followed by autoclaving.
